MADNESS!
There were blinding lightning flashes as they hurtled through the storm. The windshield was an expressionist smear.
“Madness!” the driver shouted. “Greed, corruption and madness! What has this country become? How did we let this happen to us?”
His face looked wraithlike in the strobes of lightning. He squirmed, giggled and moaned. The rain lashed the windshield and the wipers pounded out a relentless rhythm.
“Where are we?” Loomis asked, trying to suppress the panic in his voice.
The driver gaped in astonishment in a jagged splash of light.
“How should I know?” He groaned. “How in the fuck should I know?”
The storm raged around them as they roared on through the night.
